Part #: BLMA 77 - Modern Grade Crossing - Rubber
Our Modern Rubber Grade Crossings are the first ever produced for N-Scale. We took our time in designing the grade crossings to ensure that not only were the measurements correct, but they looked right when mounted and worked correctly with 99% of the rolling stock available.
Our rubber and concrete grade crossings are made to simulate two-lane highway crossings (expander pack available).
Length:  2.75" (with end plates installed)

Installation Instructions
To Mount:
1. Carefully remove all pieces from the etched-metal frame with a sharp hobby knife.
2. Before mounting, find the height (often called the Code) of the rail you're using.  Code 55 track has a rail height of .055" while Code 80 has a height of .080" for example.
3. These etchings are .010" thick, so if you're using Code 55 rail that is .055" tall, you will need a shim (plastic strip) that is about .040" tall, leaving you with .005" of clearance below the rail head.
4. Mount your shims down the middle of the track and on either side of the ties where you would like your grade crossing to lay. Remove spike heads to aid in laying the shims flat if they are wider than the space between the spike heads.
5. Glue shims in place.
6. Glue the 3 long etchings in place, but, bend the ramps down so they lay just on top of the ties (the ramps are only on one end).
7. Next, you will notice that you have three of the short pieces (ramps) left over.  The ramps are left off on one end to allow you to expand your grade crossing to a 4 lane road using our expander pack - BLMA #78
8. If you are not using the expander, simply glue the ramps onto the end of the long etching at the same angle downward as they are on the other end.
To Paint:
1. The ramps on these models are metal and the rest of the crossing is a high-density rubber.
2. Simulate the rubber using thin washes of India ink or thin black paint. (An airbrush works as well.)
3. Because the ramps are to remain their natural metal color, we recommend weathering them (and the whole thing) with dull coat and perhaps a hint of orange or brown chalk dust to represent faint signs of rusting.

Part #: BLMA 79 - Modern Grade Crossing - Concrete
Our Modern Rubber Grade Crossings are the first ever produced for N-Scale. We took our time in designing the grade crossings to ensure that not only were the measurements correct, but they looked right when mounted and worked correctly with 99% of the rolling stock available.
Our rubber and concrete grade crossings are made to simulate two-lane highway crossings (expander pack available).
Length:  2.75" (with end plates installed)

Installation Instructions
To Mount:
1. Remove all pieces from the etched metal frame.
2. At this point, you may decide to paint the part prior to installation, or you might want to install and then paint.
3. Note that on the right side of the etching there are three detached ramp pieces unlike the other (left) end. The detached plates are so our Expander pack (BLMA #80) can fit into place to expand the crossing into a 4-lane version and the ramps can then be attached to the end of the expander.
4. Prior to installing, bend the ramps down on the left end so that if the crossing is the same height as the rail, the bottom of the plates will be at the top of the ties.
5. To install, you will need to place shims under the grade crossing to bring it up to the right height from the top of the ties.  We suggest using strips of plastic, though strips of wood or other materials may work as well. Please note that the width of the material will depend on the height (code) of your rail.
6. Once you have the long sections securely glued in place, glue the detached end pieces on the right hand end at the same angle as those on the left.  (NOTE: This is the time when you should put the Expander set (BLMA #80) between the end plates and long etchings with end plates attached).
To Paint:
We suggest using thin paint and an airbrush or fine brush to paint the crossing.  On the prototype, the narrow border around the large rectangles is metal. The metal border should be painted orange and of course, the concrete should be a light gray (unless heavily weathered).

Part #: BLMA 600 - Cell Phone Antenna Tower
Next time you're driving around town, take special note of the big towers you see in the sky.  Cell Phone towers are becoming a common site in modern America to meet the demand of millions and millions of wireless electronics users.  Seeing how many us model industrial scenes where these towers are common, we hope that these antenna towers will find a special place on your layout or module.

Installation Instructions:
1. Remove the etched metal pieces from their frame using a sharp hobby knife.
2.  Fold the three attached sides of the open triangular part to form a bottomless box.
3.  Note that each side of this has a single mounting tab extending from the center.  Locate the second triangular etching with grill pattern and mount it onto the three tabs (this part has corresponding holes for the mounting tabs).  Secure with a small amount of glue.
4.  With the antenna platform assembly complete, slide the pole in through the bottom (bottom being the side with the grill detail) so that it extends just a few thousandths above the top of the assembly.  Glue the pole in place from the top and bottom of the assembly.
5.  We've also added a cover plate for to cover the top of the pole and a small oval shaped access port that can be glued near the bottom.
6.  We suggest painting this model with an air brush to ensure the fine details are not covered with thick brush strokes.

Part #: BLMA 601 - Out Houses - Laser Cut Wood - 2
Out Houses and their infamous Moon shaped windows have been a part of American history from the time of the wild west to the present day.  Just as apple pie is a staple of American heritage, it is debatable that perhaps the Out House is as well!

Installation Instructions:
1.  Remove the laser cut parts from their frame using a sharp hobby knife.  Remove any additional burs with a sharp knife (note that these parts are extremely fragile!).
2.  Use the square with 'BLMA' cut into it as the base for the structure.  We've designed this kit so the front and rear parts sandwich the sides. Glue all sides together.
3. Glue the roof in place and mount as desired on your favorite scene.

Part #: BLMA 608 - Radio Tower Kit Style #2 - Parallel Sides - 5" Tall
Located near many rail yards, Radio Antenna Towers are a vital link between train crews, dispatchers and other yard personnel.

Standing at roughly 70 scale feet tall  (that's 5"!) and including all of the antenna's featured on the prototype, this stainless steel kit will add considerable depth to any rail yard or mainline scene.

The prototype for this model is located in Southern California next to Union Pacific's (ex-Southern Pacific) Aurunt railyard.  This product will fit perfectly with our #607 Large Electrical Box.

Installation Instructions:
1.Remove the etched parts with a sharp hobby knife (be careful and use eye protection!).  Reference the bottom of the tower sections by locating the “BLMA” etched at the bottom.
2.Begin assembly by locating the base (triangular part with notched corners) and bending the three sides down so the half-etched fold lines are on the inside of the bend.  Secure with ‘CA’ glue.
3.Next, gently fold the tower sides to create a vertical triangle (note that the rivet detail should face outward).  Secure with ‘CA’ glue.
4.Place the tower mounting tabs into the base (base folded in step #2).  Glue the mounting tabs from inside the base.
5.At this point, you should have the tower assembled and fastened to the triangular base with glue.
6.Locate the ladders and fold their protruding mounting tabs perpendicular to the ladder; note the corresponding mounting holes on the tower.  For reference, the ladder should fit flush with the top of the tower when installed.
7. Lastly, locate the two different types of antennas provided in this kit (one style contains two parts for one assembly).  Both antenna styles have mounting arms attached to them that correspond with the truss structure of the tower.  Because every tower has the antennas mounted in a unique configuration, please consult the provided photo to aid you in mounting the antennas on your tower.

Part #: BLMA 1010 - Early Signal Bridge - Double Track
We've combined innovative manufacturing techniques with our nack for extremely accurate details to produce this all-metal signal bridge kit.
Features:
1. Easy Assembly: Assembles in less than one hour with glue only.  This kit is fun to build and painting is a snap.
2. Durability: This is one solid model that can take the all too common beating while sitting over the mainline. The handrails are etched in stainless steel for exceptional durability.
3. Accuracy: We are confident that if you took a tape measure to the real thing, our model would measure up perfectly!
4. Also Includes: Two, highly detailed Signal Heads (with room for the addition of LED's), four Concrete Footings and one Electrical Box!
Prototype:
The prototype for our model is based on a common Santa Fe style bridge that is a close relative to the "A" frame design.  Constructed during the 1930-40's, these bridges have been a common site along Santa Fe (now BNSF) mainlines for well over a half-century.
The prototype photos posted are of two  bridges, both located in Santa Fe Springs, CA, on the BNSF mainline.

Part #: BLMA 1020 - Cantilever Signal Bridge
Our Cantilever Signal Bridge model is based on a common Santa Fe/Southern Pacific style seen literally all over the USA.  Removed in mid-2006, the prototype was located at the very west end of Fullerton, California, on the BNSF mainline at a spot called "Basta".

Cantilever Signal Bridges have been a part of railroading since the early 1900's.  Many early style cantilever bridges are still holding strong in spots all across the country, but slowly, they are being replaced by modern counterparts due to increased safety restrictions by the FRA (and perhaps OSHA) to keep signal maintainers safe while working on these structures.

Stock Checks:

Inventory is a fluid commodity.  It changes by the hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson. When we held items for customers’ orders, the order never materialized 80%+ of the time.  We lost out on the orders placed while the item was on hold.  Also we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms pages, we don’t do it anymore.
You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items are available and if possible attempt to locate what we don’t have while you are on the phone.
