Below you will find the current Micro-Trains© Z-Scale Releases. We expect our first delivery for the month to arrive on the third business day of the month. We ask that you please email your Pre-Orders so that we receive them before 8am on that day!

Weathered cars are typically announced between the 12th 14th and 17th of the month and Pre-Order pricing expires when they arrive here. Please Pre-Order IMMEDIATELY when weathered cars are announced!

Pre-Order pricing applies until the time listed above, or when we are unable to get any more, whichever is earlier.

Please Note:

First:   Some Micro-Trains releases can be limited and run out at M-TL in the first 1-2 days of the month.

Second:  Occasionally M-TL allocates orders and even when we order additional quantities beyond our Auto-Ship quantities on the first day of orders at 7:00am we do not receive all we ordered.  If this happens this month, we may be forced to allocate to our reservations based on timing of the Pre-Order. If the customer requests multiple copies of an item they may be limited.

Third:  Beginning with the June 2008 releases Micro-Trains© Line delivers auto-ship quantities "simultaneously" across the United States.  Our shipment should arrive on the second or third business day of the month. This means that our window for reservations is now shorter.  Once they arrive here, stock pricing applies.  Please try to place your reservations by close of business on the first business day of the month.  For most of our customers this will not be an issue. 

Fourth:  As always, if you have Pre-Ordered (via e-mail with confirmation) an entire run of a series we will pre-order enough of those items to always fill your order.  Also customers who order complete monthly releases are assured of getting theirs as well.

This 40’ Standard Box Car with plug door is car #39 of a 50-car series representing each of the 50 states in the union. It bears the Mock Orange and Mountain Bluebird, Idaho’s official state flower and bird. The flag of the state of Idaho is in the background. The road number 1890 represents the year the ‘Gem State’ was admitted into the union.

50' Rib Side Box Car, Single Door
Part #: MTL-510 00 210
This 50’ rib side box car with a single door and no roofwalk is painted brown with white BNSF Heritage logo and white lettering. It was built in June 1979, serviced in June 2001, and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. This car was originally built for the ATSF in the late 1970s, one of a series of cars renumbered to BNSF numbers after the 1996 merger. After the merger it received this paint scheme with the Heritage BNSF logo.

These 40’ wood sheathed reefer cars with flush doors and vertical brakewheels are painted box car red with reefer yellow sides. They bear the black, red and white logos and are lettered in black on the sides and white on the ends. They were built in 1945, serviced in May 1963, and run on Bettendorf trucks. World War II steel shortages forced the use of wood sides on otherwise all-steel cars. These Burlington Refrigerator Express cars are stenciled in the post-1958 block gothic lettering.

The American Refrigerator Transit Company was a St. Louis, MO-based private refrigerator car line established in 1881 by the Missouri Pacific and Wabash railroads. It is now a subsidiary of the Union Pacific Corporation.

This 60’ flat car is painted aluminum and lettered in black. It was built in the early 1970s, acquired by Ringling Bros.® in late 1980, and then assigned road number RBBX 84714 in 1999. Flat cars were often modified by Ringling Bros. to fit their specific needs. They carried autos, wagons with lighting, concessions and other equipment to the next arena.

Stock Checks:

Inventory is a fluid commodity.  It changes by the hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson. When we held items for customers’ orders, the order never materialized 80%+ of the time.  We lost out on the orders placed while the item was on hold.  Also we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items are available and if possible attempt to locate what we don’t have while you are on the phone.
