Below you will find the current Micro-Trains© N-Scale Releases.
We expect our first delivery for the month to arrive on the third business day of the month. We ask that you please email your Pre-Orders so that we receive them before 8am on that day! We also accept Standing Orders for Micro-Trains® monthly releases or Micro-Trains® Series Releases!

Weathered cars are typically announced between the 12th and 17th of the month and Pre-Order pricing expires when they arrive here. Please Pre-Order IMMEDIATELY when weathered cars are announced! We also accept Standing Orders for weathered releases!

Pre-Order pricing applies until the time listed above, or when we are unable to get any more, whichever is earlier.

Please Note:

First: Some Micro-Trains releases can be limited and run out at M-TL in the first 1-2 days of the month.

Second: Occasionally M-TL allocates orders and even when we order additional quantities beyond our Auto-Ship quantities on the first day of orders at 7:00am we do not receive all we ordered. If this happens this month, we may be forced to allocate to our reservations based on timing of the reserve. If the customer requests multiple copies of an item they may be limited.

Third: Beginning with the June 2008 releases Micro-Trains© Line delivers auto-ship quantities "simultaneously" across the United States. Our shipment should arrive on the second or third business day of the month. This means that our window for reservations is now shorter. Once they arrive here, stock pricing applies. Please try to place your reservations by close of business on the first business day of the month. For most of our customers this will not be an issue.

Fourth: As always, if you have reserved (via e-mail with confirmation) an entire run of a series we will pre-order enough of those items to always fill your order. An Entire Series means just that. If you say you want all the circus items you will get ALL the circus items unless WE indicate that an item is not included. Also customers who order complete monthly releases are assured of getting theirs as well.

Norfolk Southern

This 40’ standard box car with single sliding door is painted brown with white lettering and black, yellow and white logo. It was built in January 1943, serviced in March 1959 and runs on Bettendorf trucks. The Norfolk Southern Railway ran from Norfolk, VA southwest and west to Charlotte, NC under the Norfolk Southern name from 1910 to 1974 when it was acquired by the Southern Railway. The Southern was merged with the Norfolk and Western Railway in 1990 to form the current entity of the Norfolk Southern Railway.

This 40’ standard box car with single door is painted gold over silver with the black ends ‘Flying’ Rio Grande road name.
Lettering is in black and white. It was built in February 1942, serviced in march 1959 and runs on Bettendorf trucks. This
series was identical to the earlier cars except for their steel running boards and the use of Superior seven-panel sliding doors.
Although used to haul anything and everything, a few cars were stenciled for assigned service hauling lead, zinc, or copper
bullion.

St. Louis-San Francisco

40' Standard Box Car, Single Door, w/o Roofwalk
Part #: MTL-024 00 370

This 40’ standard box car with single sliding door is painted brown with white and black “coonskin” logo and slogan. Lettering
is white. It was built in August 1957 by Pullman Standard at Bessemer, AL, serviced in December 1974, and runs on Bettendorf
trucks. Number 19210 has retained its as-built paint scheme including the “SOUTHWEST…SOUTHEAST” part of the “Ship it
on the Frisco!” slogan. The Frisco reconditioned many of this group in 1969 and 1970 at which time ladders were shortened.

This 50’ rib side box car with plug door and no roofwalk is painted brown with aluminum roof and a white Missouri Pacific
‘buzz saw’ logo and white lettering It was built in April 1976 by American Car & Foundry and runs on Barber Roller Bearing
trucks. Cars from series 253450-253749 were built for Missouri Pacific® and as indicated on the side, they included Evans
load dividers and an ACF Freight-Saver cushioning system for additional protection of loads during transport.

This 50’ flat car with fishbelly side and side mount brakewheel is painted CP Rail ‘Action Red’ with brown floor and
white hearld and lettering. It was built in June 1950, serviced in November 1976, and runs on Bettendorf trucks. This
flat car is one of 44 pulp wood cars filled with steel stakes. It has a fishbelly center sill and carries the CP RAIL ‘Action
Red’ paint scheme for flat cars.

Millard Fillmore Presidential Car

40' Standard Box Car w/ Plug Door and No Roofwalks
Part #: MTL-074 00 143

This 40’ standard box car with plug door and no roofwalk is car #43 of a 44-car series representing each of the presidents of the United States. It bears the portrait of our 13th president, Millard Fillmore. The car comes with a commemorative pin replicated from this era. Fillmore became President following the death of Zachary Taylor. He was the last member of the Whig party to hold the office of President.

40' Drop Bottom Gondola w/ Wood Chip Extension
Part #: MTL-084 00 050

This 40’ drop bottom gondola with side extension and wood chip load is painted black with white lettering. It was built in September 1937 by Pressed Steel Car Co., serviced in June 1973, and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Northern Pacific’s series 52000-52749 GS drop bottom gondolas were built and then later fitted with height extensions to provide a low-cost chip car, creating the series 118500- 118540. The conversion created woodchip cars with a cubic capacity to 3968 cubic feet.

Chicago & North Western®
Road #: CNW 57950
40' Hy-Cube Box Car, Single Door
Part #: MTL-101 00 110

This 40’ Hy-Cube box car with single door is painted brown with the black and yellow “Chicago System” CNW logo. Lettering is yellow with the exception of the black print on the white excess height markings on the ends. The car was built in January 1969 and runs the Midwest on Roller Bearing trucks. These Hy-Cubes were specifically designed for use in large appliance service and were often assigned to specific appliance corporations: Whirlpool, Admiral, Philco, etc. The mini hi-cube phase was short lived, and was quickly overshadowed by longer and bigger cars. This car was also equipped with load dividers to help protect loads.

Heavyweight Paired-Window Coach Car
Part #: MTL-145 00 091
Please Note: If you order only one of these two cars we reserve the right to substitute the other part number so that we have both cars for those who want them.

These heavyweight paired-window coaches are painted blue with black roof, gray side bands and gold pin striping. The heralds and road numbers are lettered in gold. They’re based on Pullman plan B&O #2882-B and run on six-wheel passenger trucks. Built between 1914 and 1919, they had a seating capacity of 80 people, with walk-over seating. By the time of their B&O schemes, coaches would have already had some form of modification for the additions of the air conditioning.
