Inventory is a fluid commodity.  It changes by the hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson. When we held items for customers’ orders, the order never materialized 80%+ of the time.  We lost out on the orders placed while the item was on hold.  Also we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items are available and if possible attempt to locate what we don’t have while you are on the phone.

That's right Digitrax is letting you use your iPad or iPhone as a wireless throttle. This app will allow you to control locos and turnout (including routes). These applications will be coming to Apple's App Store soon. So for all of you iPad and iPhone users keep an eye out!

August 19 -- There is a firmware update for the Digitrax DT402D.  Now available for download at digitrax.com in the "What's New" section. Follow the instructions posted on our website to update your throttles to the latest firmware. Note that once you have performed the update, you should unplug the throttle from LocoNet and then remove and re-insert the battery to re-initialize the unit.

This update improves the DT402D login sequences and overall performance on large installations using multiple UR92s and DT402Ds. This is an optional update for end users and those customers currently using DT402D & UR92 who are not experiencing performance issues are not required to update their throttles. DT402Ds with any version of firmware will work together.  All shipments sent after August 5, 2011 include this new firmware and do NOT need to be updated.

August 12 -- Last Chance: Athearn closes Pre-Orders for their new run of 30,000 Gallon Ethanol Tank Cars one week from today.  When our order is placed that will be it.  They produce to order and have few if any for late orders.  Each roadname for this run will be offered as a single car and in sets. August 11 -- Fox Valley Models has announced another release of their ES44AC locomotives for delivery in March & April 2012.  In a new paint scheme for these locos will be the BNSF "Nike, Power Bar, Swoosh, Post 2005, or H3" Scheme.  We will also see an New scheme for FerroMex and New road numbers in Iowa Interstate and Ferromex.  Pre-Orders close @ Wig-Wag on 08/31/2011.  You may see a later date elsewhere however to get our best price we need your order before we shut down to load and head out to the Vaughn Show.

It is with great sorrow that we report the loss on August 2, 2011 of a fellow modeler and one of the world’s really Great Guys, John Chenoweth.  John fought for four years after the doctors gave him “maybe one” following his diagnosis of brain cancer.  John was mostly an HO & HOn3 modeler who also dabbled in O.  He was well known to hobby shops around the southwest for his time working as a traveling representative for one of the old line distributors.  He was also known in Albuquerque for his ready smile and quick wit any time you went into Abajo Depot/Trains West where he worked part time for many years.  John is survived by his wife Barbara and two children Joanna and Zachary who will remember him fondly.  John is also survived by a brother and two sisters and many friends.  Debra and George remember him very well.  He was one of the Car Captains that volunteered in 1993 to accompany a Civitan group trip on the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad.  That trip had been planned for months and had grown beyond all expectations.  John stepped up and with his wife and very young baby provided some of the best assistance for the 35 Civitan members on that car.  We will miss you John.

August 02 -- Con-Cor has announced a few more Autorack cars to arrive in late fall.  The Amtrak Trainman are coming in a Phase III, IV, and V paint scheme. OK - Lots of stuff arriving over the next few months. There is a container on the water that has some PS5344 Boxcars, all RD-4 hoppers, all GEVO's, all Milwaukee coaches, all Wagontops, plus a few other things. Yes, the factories are catching up - but in batches! This is due to arrive here at the end of August This is a large amount of product that we will try and spread out over the next few months. Wig Wag NOTE:  We have advised Matt that customers have been sitting on the money they budgeted for these items and would really appreciate getting them as quickly as possible.  Four more months to have to wait for some of this seems excessive.  We understand that his reply was he would try to shrink the delivery schedule as much as possible over the next 7-10 days and would send out a revised schedule ASAP.

July 30 -- Kato has announced a new Pennsylvania GG1 to arrive December 2011. This GG1 will be coming in Tuscan Red "Single Stripe".
