Inventory is a fluid commodity. It changes by the
hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure
we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each
year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order
in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm
that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order
it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson.
When we held items for customers’ orders, the order
never materialized 80%+ of the time. We lost out on
the orders placed while the item was on hold. Also
we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual
orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact
that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not
mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms
pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items
are available and if possible attempt to locate what we
don’t have while you are on the phone. |

August 30 - Micro-Trains has announced what they will be producing in N-Scale for September. This month has many new exciting cars to choose from! The 1st Car from the Smithsonian Civil War Series will be available this month, along with the Meat Packers Series 5th car. Also expect to see some new hoppers, boxcars and passenger cars. September's runner pack was supposed to be the Department of Defense 3-pack of tankcars, that runner pack has been pushed back to October's releases. Instead the CSX Transportation 4-pack that was due next month will be coming this month. Most exciting of all, the Cemetery Central Halloween Train Set will be available mid-month! All the low nose models of this release are models that were originally owned by Lehigh Valley, and all the high short hood models represent models that were originally owned by Long Island RR. We are just returning from the NMRA show this past weekend in MI and wanted to give a few updates. First, the show was good! Nice attendance and a good amount of interest in the hobby overall. All three days had a steady flow of people in the hall and people were smiling and positive. At the FVM booth, we had painted samples of the first 8 NS Heritage GEVOs which just about everyone commented on. Other items on display were painted cars for the forthcoming N & HO Wagontops, N Milw 50' Boxcar and the HO SOO 7 Post boxcars. Lastly, on Thurs. we received the first plastic shots of the N Scale GP60M and B locomotives - a few photos are attached. These are looking good and we are expecting the remainder of the parts over the next few weeks.
Shipping News
Well, my crystal ball has proven it knows almost as much as the weatherman. While I expected to have product in hand by the time the summer shows ended, I'm still waiting. However, with shipping documents now in hand, I am happy to tell you that the next shipment will hit the US in approximately 15 days and should be to us around Sept 1. Excluding any major delays from the West Coast to us, we expect to ship the following:

The above items are the best info I have to date. There are still several other runs that need to be completed including numerous N GEVO's, N FMC 5347 and FMC 5283 cars and HO Hiawatha's & N Hiawatha's. Each are getting a turn at the factory, but it is too far out to assign firm dates yet. While things are indeed slow - they are moving forward and I am happy to see the progress. As I get better info - I will keep you posted with what I have. Coinciding with these runs are the Heritage GEVOs and the N GP60 development. At this point, I do expect the first of the Heritage GEVOs to ship late this fall. With the arrival of GP60 M & B plastic, I expect the remainder of the parts to be done over the next few weeks. Shortly after that, decoration samples should show up. As long as everything looks good on those fronts, I expect them to be in production through Oct and it is my best hope to have them here before the end of the year. As mentioned above - when I get better updates - I will certainly relay them." |

Debra has loaded 9800+ items (faster than we can report what she has added) so far with about that many more to go. Many older items are moving quickly as a result. We receive over 3,000,000 hits on this site each month (only a very, very small fraction of those hits result in actual orders) and when the new site receives more unique visits than this one we will phase this site out. NOTE: the confirmation e-mail from the new site comes from a "dummy" account. All e-mail must be sent to wigwag@swcp.com.
Several customers including a nuclear physicist have indicated that they cannot get the new site to complete checkout. All have failed to click on the shopping cart at the upper right hand corner of any page after clicking on the "Add to Cart" button.

| August 03 - Construction has completed on Hinge Yard and the two new reverse Loop Modules that are as yet unnamed which we are building for the Vaughn Show. These Modules will make the show even better for the railroaders who are participating and we hope more interesting for the public. The assistance of Paul Chenoweth has been greatly appreciated and tomorrow George will get to test out the new track with actual trains! Up to know we have used locos only. We may post some photos tomorrow or Sunday. Of course scenery is still in planning but some (maybe not complete) scenery will be added before the show. |

| August 03 - Due to an A/C failure that had to be repaired or we would have had to spend the night in a motel, we were unable to complete posting all the new Atlas items on the Shopping Cart Site last night. They are posted now and all the customers who sent inquiries why they could not locate the new Dash 8-32's or the Dash 8-40's in the various versions they can now be ordered online. Even with the repairs it was well after 0400hrs before the house was comfortable for sleeping. We've been having a very unusual summer with many days well above 90. |
